Sweet Bike Hack: Monkey Light Pro (Kickstarter)

Another day, another awesome bike hack. Monkey Light Pro launched on Kickstarter earlier today and if Helios Bars is an urban hipster’s smart bike utility for increasing safety, Monkey Light Pro is the ultimate bike hack for the Burning Man crowd — a dizzying, multi-colored explosion of colors that lights up the full lateral surface of your bike wheels as you ride (probably amongst half-naked ravers dancing in the desert.)

Monkey Light hooks up to a bike’s rim and uses 4 bars of bright LEDs synchronized with the rotation of the wheels to display media in full color. Onboard media supports 1000 frames of animation and is compatible with a ton of off-the-shelf media formats, such as JPG, GIF, PNG, AVI, MPEG, MOV, QT, FLV, and more — loaded up via bluetooth.

It’s only a matter of time until they enable an ad-network so you can earn money serving ads as you ride about town.
